Integrating acupuncture into our practice allows us to use another layer of pain relief and healing to benefit our patients. Our in-house acupuncturist is a credentialed member of the American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncture. Using this modality in conjunction to Western medicine has brought our furry friends relief from conditions such as osteoarthritis, soft tissue injuries, inter vertebral disc disease, cystitis, seizures and more.
The process of acupuncture has been in use in China for over 2,000 years and subscribes to the belief that our body has acupuncture points that arranged in an orderly network of interconnecting meridians, which exist in predictable locations throughout the body. When we stimulate these points we optimize the flow of Qi (chee) or Ki (kee), in order to create a state of wellness and reduce any obstruction of that energy flow. This age old treatment paradigm has worked well in veterinary medicine.
